IGotNewsForYou creates personalized, satirical page for Bill Clinton
MONTREAL, QC. -- Using their own website, the staff at IGotNewsForYou.com generated a personalized page of satirical content for former President, Bill Clinton. The page was put online for everyone to enjoy. (When viewing the page for Bill Clinton it will say "Hello Bill" at the top, since the page was designed for him specifically. We know everyone's name isn't Bill.)
"Without an email address, we can't send it to him," said Ben Yoskovitz (who claims to work at IGotNewsForYou.com). "Normally, if you would use IGotNewsForYou.com to generate a fake newspaper page like the one we did for Bill Clinton, you'd send the recipient an email to let them know. It's like sending an ecard. So if anyone has Mr. Clinton's email address, we'd be happy to send it to him."
People can view the page IGotNewsForYou.com wants to send to Bill Clinton by clicking here.
The page is filled with some rather raunchy content, which is a choice someone can make before sending an IGotNewsForYou.com greeting. "We're all familiar with Bill Clinton's past, so I think it's fair to say he would appreciate humor that's on the raunchier side," commented Yoskovitz. The page, which looks like a newspaper, includes stories about Bill Clinton's sex life with his wife, the growing tourism industry in Iran and one of Mr. Clinton's favorite subjects, polygamy.
"True, we don't know Bill Clinton personally, but I think the stories we've picked for him are spot-on," noted Yoskovitz. Creating an ecard greeting with the IGotNewsForYou.com website only takes a few minutes, and the sender can pick from a pool of stories, to find the funniest ones for the recipient. The stories are personalized based on topics of interest as well as specific, personal information about the recipient. "It's easier to create a page than you'd think. The website does all the heavy-lifting. All you need to do is fill out a simple form and voila, Bill Clinton spoofed," said Yoskovitz. "I'd recommend spoofing a friend or family member."
IGotNewsForYou.com hopes Bill Clinton will find the page on the Internet, which is why they've published it for everyone to see. Still, the team did admit to being concerned about possible repercussions. Yoskovitz said, "He's no longer President of the United States, but he's still rather powerful. If a couple men in neat, black suits named Smith and Smith are knocking at my door, I'll be running."
