Where Is Basil? Join the Community: Enjoy Fawlty Towers!
Time for Monday Morning Musings (where we tackle some lighthearted issues, thoughts, opinions...)
A little cross-promotion never hurt anyone right?
I've launched a site called: Where Is Basil?
It was inspired during an open mic session at Successful Blog during which I ran a contest to win the Fawlty Towers DVD Collection.
The contest was a blast, but it didn't seem right to stop there. So I came up with the site Where Is Basil? which I hope will be a great community-building project.
What is it exactly?
I've shipped the Fawlty Towers DVD Collection to Starbucker (in Stamford, Connecticut) and each week from here on in the DVDs will be shipped to the next person on the list. Anyone can sign up! When you receive the DVDs, you should also get a nice postcard and tourist-trinket from whoever is sending you the DVDs. That way we're all meeting new people; making new connections.
Each recipient can also guest blog on the Where Is Basil? website.
Through word-of-mouth and a little luck, I hope the DVDs will travel the world several times over and inspire a ton of laughter and fun!
You'll notice a donkey in the picture above and on the Where Is Basil? site. The donkey is a fictional character, named "Basil" (of course) who is traveling the globe bringing the DVDs to each person on the list. The site is mostly travel blog of Basil's adventures.
If you enjoy hysterical comedy, with slapstick, physical humor, and absolute absurdity (all done in a British accent I might add), you're going to love Fawlty Towers which was created by John Cleese and Connie Booth.
Check out the website and I hope you'll sign up to receive the DVDs and become a part of the community!
